The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government recently announced the reappointment of Clement Cheung as Chief Executive Officer of the Insurance Authority, for a three-year term commencing 15 August 2026 and ending 14 August 2029.
Clement Cheung first took office as the Chief Executive Officer of the Insurance Authority in August 2018. He previously held senior public posts including Commissioner of Customs and Excise and Secretary for the Civil Service. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors and the Asian Forum of Insurance Regulators, possessing solid on-the-ground regulatory experience in Hong Kong and expertise in international insurance governance.
