Global insurance brokerage giant Aon has recently named Joe Liang as Executive Chairman of Reinsurance for Greater China.
Liang brings over 34 years of experience in the insurance industry, having held senior management roles across underwriting, reinsurance, risk management and actuarial practices at multiple insurance companies in China and the United States. Prior to joining Aon, he served as General Manager of the reinsurance department at SAIC Insurance, and previously held positions including Chief Actuary and Chief Risk Officer at Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance. His career track also includes stints at W.F. Corroon, CNA, and Zurich Insurance Group.
His appointment officially took effect on July 20. Based in Hong Kong, he will report directly to Rupert Moore, Chief Executive Officer of Aon Reinsurance Asia Pacific.
Since last year, Aon has unveiled a string of senior management appointments across Asia, including Qin Lu, Head of North Asia, and Simon Chisholm, Chairman of Asian Reinsurance Solutions.
